Concept[edit][]

Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai is a heart warming story of a young bride's struggle to make a place for herself in her husband's house. The story of Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai is set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh and highlights the predicament of women who are abandoned by their husbands, and are left to deal with life on the margins of the society.

The story revolves around a poor village girl named Dhaani, who gets married to Ambar, the son of a wealthy and powerful family. Dhaani is rejected by Ambar's class conscious relatives, and they force him to get remarried to Sarla, a simpleton from a wealthy family. The rest of the story shows Dhaani's struggle to be recognized by her in-laws, and Ambar's efforts to do justice to his two wives, both of whom love him equally.
